Jennifer Smith practices in the areas of dispute resolution and employment law. She has a wide-range of experience in litigation matters including the areas of oil and gas, securities and various other contractual disputes. Ms. Smith has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, including the Court of Appeal, and has also appeared before administrative tribunals and participated in alternate dispute resolution processes. Ms. Smith’s employment practice involves advising both employers and employees on hiring, discipline and termination, employment-related human rights matters, and personnel policies, including drug and alcohol testing and workplace harassment policies.
Ms. Smith received a Bachelor of Science (Biology) from the University of Western Ontario in 1995 and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Saskatchewan in 1999. She was called to the Alberta Bar in 2001. Ms. Smith joined Burstall Winger Zammit LLP as an associate in 2003.
Ms. Smith is a volunteer with both the Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre and the Calgary Humane Society.
