Maria Nathanail practices primarily in the areas of corporate finance, capital markets and securities regulation, as well as business and corporate commercial law. Ms. Nathanail has represented both public and private clients in respect of mergers and acquisitions, equity (public and private) and debt securities financings, corporate reorganizations and corporate structuring with a particular interest in the exempt market. In addition, Ms. Nathanail has advised on corporate governance issues, disclosure matters and regulatory compliance. Ms. Nathanail’s practice is focused on advising start-up and junior private companies and mutual fund trusts through all stages of business including initial organization and formation.
Ms. Nathanail received her Juris Doctor from the University of Saskatchewan. She was called to the Alberta Bar in 2006. Ms. Nathanail joined Burstall Winger Zammit LLP as an Associate in 2012. She previously was an Associate at another major Canadian law firm and worked as in-house counsel to an energy-focused income fund.
Ms. Nathanail is a member of the Securities Law and Business Law subsections of the Canadian Bar Association and is also on the Advisory Board for Child Rescue North America and participates in the Canadian Bar Association Mentor program. Ms. Nathanail is the Corporate Secretary of private and publicly traded companies.
