Robert Carleton practices primarily in the areas of banking and finance, commercial real estate, corporate finance, capital markets, corporate governance, general commercial, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Carleton acts for chartered banks, finance companies and borrowers in financing transactions, including, syndicated and bilateral credit and project loan facilities for both domestic and cross-border financing, principally in the oil & gas and real estate industries. Mr. Carleton acts for both issuers and underwriters in respect of equity and debt securities financings (including initial public offerings and secondary offerings), corporate reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and general corporate and commercial matters. Mr. Carleton acts in connection with various commercial real estate matters such as acquisitions and dispositions, leasing and financing, property development matters and joint venture and limited partnership arrangements.
Mr. Carleton received his Bachelor of Fine Arts (New Media) from the University of Lethbridge in 2005. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria in 2011. Before joining Burstall Winger Zammit LLP in 2014, Mr. Carleton practiced with a large regional Calgary law firm.
Mr. Carleton is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Alberta and the Calgary Bar Association.
