Biography
Kimberly is Counsel at Burstall LLP.

Kimberly has a broad practice which includes commercial and civil litigation, employment law, corporate/commercial law and real estate. In her litigation practice, Kimberly has experience in a wide variety of contractual disputes, shareholder remedies, fraud, land and title issues, trademark infringement, builders’ liens, and debt collection. As an employment lawyer, Kimberly works for both employers and employees and has experience in drafting employment agreements and workplace policies, assisting in disciplinary matters, terminations and layoffs, participating in workplace investigations, addressing wrongful dismissal and Human Rights claims, and handling Occupational Health and Safety matters. In her corporate commercial and real estate practices, she conducts purchases and sales of shares, assets and land, works with lenders and borrowers, drafts leases, contracts and other commercial documents, and assists clients in day to day commercial and real estate needs.

Ms. Setrakov has appeared at the Alberta Court of Appeal, Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, and the Provincial Court of Alberta. She has also conducted litigation in Saskatchewan. When possible, Ms. Setrakov uses a collaborative approach to dispute resolution and has assisted clients in judicial dispute resolutions (JDRs), arbitrations, and mediations.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Setrakov worked for a local non-profit organization that provides service to children and youth. She has also been involved in organizations that work towards ending homelessness. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering, doing yoga, and spending time outdoors with her husband and three children.
